KI in THE HUMAN BODY

Oriental culture has developed a number of ancient classical systems of analysis for examining how energy works in the universe as a whole, and in the human being in particular. These are extremely helpful in preparing more advanced strategies for diagnosis and treatment. They include the Chinese model of the organ systems, the classical system of meridians and points, the laws of Yin and Yang and the Five Elements.

There is a definite direction of Ki flow in each of the meridians. Generally speaking, the flow is down the back of the body (as it appears when the arms are raised over the head) and the outside of the limbs, and up the front of the body and the inside of limbs. This dictates the pattern of treatment in Part One and self-treatment in Part Two. The exception is the stomach meridian, which runs downwards on the fronts of the legs. The routes of the meridians are shown schematically below. Some of the more important specific treatment points are also shown; how to locate them more precisely follows shortly. There is also an overall flow of Ki in the whole system, through one meridian after another, as shown in the list below.

£50 for "First Session" Pilates or Pilates/Yoga or Yoga session, 1 1/2 -2 hours (where a consultation is involved).
